Frequently Asked Questions:

  • We provide a 1-2 minute “sneak peek” within one month of your wedding, and the full package delivered within four months (though often sooner). If you have any special deadlines to hit, let us know and we can often work with your timeline.

  • Although we mainly service the greater Portland area, we are always down to travel.

We cover anything within 100 miles (about a two hour drive) for no additional cost. For anything outside of that 100 miles radius we put together a travel stipend based on distance, travel requirements, lodging, etc.

  • Absolutely! We typically have an informational call with clients to give more info, chat, ask questions, see if it’s a good fit, etc… Once a couple locks in their date, we often do another video call or two (or meet for coffee) to discuss all the details and really get to know you.

We typically have another call a couple weeks before the big day to confirm details, timelines, special events, etc.

  • YES!!! Hell yes. We love to have couples put together a Spotify playlist of favorite songs and we’ll work with you to narrow that down into a few options. The “Simple Films” often use one or two songs, “Complete Films” will often use two or three, and we would LOVE your help in choosing them.

ALSO, Jake worked for years writing and recording CUSTOM SONGS for clients all over the world. You can commission your very own custom song, written, recorded and mixed by Jake for use in your video, or just as a bonus :)

  • For Super 8 and Simple Films, a deposit of $1500 is due up front to secure your date. For Complete and Documentary Films, a deposit of $2500 is due up front to secure your date. The remainder of the balance is collected 30 days prior to your wedding day.

Though the deposit is non-negotiable, the remainder of the balance can be broken up into smaller installments, and a payment plan can be arranged to make things a little easier. Feel free to reach out to ask more about payment options.

  • No! But we’ve worked with many great photographers over the years and are always happy to make some recommendations :)

  • The Documentary offering was born out of a desire to take the wedding film a bit further. We spend one day with you before your wedding to hear your story, talk about your journey, and really get some honest moments outside of the madness of the wedding day.

The additional day of filming is typically spent at one or two locations - that can be your home, the place you met, had your first date, a favorite spot you like to go, etc. We do some informal interviews, ask you some questions together and individually, get some footage of the two of you in your space and environment, and edit all of it together with your wedding day to make one big beautiful film about your love and your life together.

  • Nope! In our experience, drones are often disruptive to both the filmmaking process and the guests, and there are a lot of legal requirements and regulations (that most filmmakers are ignoring) that make it more difficult than most people realize to safely and legally operate a drone.
